This quantity includes the lawsuits of the 1st foreign convention on Advances in info structures (ADVIS) held in Izmir (Turkey), 25{27 October, 2000. This convention used to be devoted to the reminiscence of Professor Esen Ozkarahan. He used to be nice researcher who made a necessary contribution to the advance of data structures. This convention was once geared up by way of the pc - gineering division of Dokuz Eylul college of Izmir. This division used to be tested in 1994 through the founding chairman Professor Ozkarahan and there he labored for the final ve years of his stay. the most aim of the convention was once to compile researchers from everywhere in the global operating in di erent components of knowledge platforms to proportion new rules and to symbolize their most modern effects. We acquired eighty submissions from 30 nations. this system Committee chosen forty four papers for presentation on the convention. The invited and authorized contributions conceal a wide number of issues: - neral points of knowledge structures, facts bases, facts warehousing, machine networks, net applied sciences, content-based photo retrieval, details - trieval, constraint programming and arti cial intelligence. The good fortune of the convention was once established upon the labor of a big variety of humans. We gratefully recognize the individuals of this system C- mittee who helped to coordinate the method of refereeing all submitted papers. We additionally thank all of the different experts who reviewed the papers.

The assumption of making the eu accountable Computing convention (EDCC) used to be born in the mean time whilst the Iron Curtain fell. a gaggle of fanatics, who have been pre viously concerned with study and instructing within the ? eld of fault tolerant computing in numerous eu international locations, agreed that there's not any element in holding pre viously self sufficient actions aside and created a guidance committee which took the accountability for getting ready the EDCC calendar and appointing the chairs for the in dividual meetings.

The 1st foreign convention on clever Tutoring platforms (ITS) used to be held ten years in the past in Montreal (ITS ’88). It was once so good got via the foreign neighborhood that the organizers made up our minds to do it back in Montreal 4 years later, in 1992, after which back in 1996. ITS ’98 differs from the former ones in that this is often the 1st time the convention has been held open air of Montreal, and it’s simply been years (not 4) because the final one.

G. jumping, rollingUp and drillingDown) are defined in a very elegant manner. 1 Introduction Data warehouses and OLAP are essential elements of decision support [5], they enable business decision makers to creatively approach, analyze and understand business problems [16]. While data warehouses are built to store very large amounts of integrated data used to assist the decision-making process [9], OLAP, which is first formulated in 1993 by [6], is a technology that processes data from a data warehouse into multidimensional structures to provide rapid response to complex analytical queries.

Section 2 contains a description of the goals of this approach. Section 3 gives a short overview of Markowitz’s portfolio theory, which is the basis for the adaptation, described in section 4. In section 5 we apply the approach to “conventional” data warehouses. The integration of prognosis data is discussed in section 6 and followed by an investigation of the general limitations of this approach (section 7). The paper concludes with section 8 (related works) and section 9, where we give a summary and conclusion of this work.

Tjoa, and R. Wagner 4 Conclusion and Future Works In this paper, we have introduced the conceptual multidimensional data model, which facilitates even sophisticated constructs based on multidimensional data elements such as dimension elements, measure data values and then cells. e. dimensions, measures, and metacubes. Based on these concepts, the data model is able to represent and capture natural hierarchical relationships among dimension members. Therefore, dimensions with complexity of their structures, such as: unbalanced and multihierarchical structures [15], can be modeled in an elegant and consistent way.
